Cleaning and Polishing Oily Stainless Steel Parts

Today we took in some stainless steel parts that needed to be cleaned or petroleum based forming oil and then polished in our steel media tumbler.  The first step was heating up the rinse tank (filled with a 10% ViChem VL-750 dilution) to 145 degrees.  Once up to temperature we rinsed each basket on long stroke oscillation for 10 minutes.  The oils came off perfectly.
Next we ran the parts in our steel tumbler with ViChem VL-557, metered in at 4%, to give the parts a nice shine.
The last step was to dry them in our corn cob dryer and repack them for the customer.
